Reference Data Models

Interest in commercial data models and pre-built analytical applications (generically referred to as reference data models or RDMs in this paper) is growing strongly, but many are still uncertain about the benefits RDMs can deliver.

Based on a series of interviews with key personnel at end-user organizations, this report uncovered one unanimous conclusion from all the participants: Although the use of an RDM requires extensive knowledge building and significant time investment, it speeds up BI delivery and its benefits are expected to increase over time.
